Yes, I want to support Bruce House!

As a registered charitable not for profit agency, Bruce House relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations and community groups to provide our residents and clients with support services. Services include physical and personal care, life skills training, and counseling.

Bruce House receives limited core support from Government and we rely on donations for about 1/3 of our budget or $250,000 this year alone. Your help is greatly appreciated

Several options are available to help Bruce House provide supportive housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS:

· Make a financial donation
· Become a monthly donor using your credit card
· Participate in planned giving
· Donate an item from our Wish Lists; or
· Give in other creative ways.

Bruce House respects the wishes of its donors regarding confidentiality. If you do not wish your name to appear as a donor in our annual report or on our web site, please tell us when you make your donation.

Bruce House needs financial donations for about 1/3 of our budgetary needs in order to provide the basic services plus the additional services that makes Bruce House more than a house… Bruce House provides more than just a transitional bed, or a room, or an apartment, a room, or a roof over your head. Bruce House tries to make a house into a home.

Your donations not only can help people get off the street and into secure and affordable housing but also your donations help people living with HIV/AIDS live as independently as possible and concentrate on maintaining and improving their health. People living with HIV/AIDS should not have to worry about where they'll sleep tonight, next week or next month. Your donations help people living with HIV/AIDS have a real home.

You may choose to donate online or you can call Bruce House at 613-729-0911 and provide your credit card donation information or you can download the Donation Form, complete it and return to Bruce House by fax or by mail.

After you've downloaded and printed the form, you can direct Bruce House to deduct whatever amount you specify from your VISA, Mastercard or American Express as a one time donation.

Bruce House clients need to know what they can count on and Bruce House needs to know what we can offer. By giving monthly we are better able to shape our programs, determine our services, and put in place the supports that help people living with HIV/AIDS improve and maintain their health and learn to have hope for the future. Your monthly commitment allows Bruce House to better plan and budget. Your monthly commitment helps give hope. Your monthly commitment allows you to plan your annual giving and let’s you determine how you want your tax receipt issued (annually or more often if you prefer).

You may choose to make your monthly commitment by calling Bruce House at 613-729-0911 and provide your credit card donation information or you can download the Donation Form, complete it indicating your monthly commitment and return to Bruce House by fax or by mail.

Planned Giving includes the gift of a bequest in your will, securities, real estate or other valuables following your death. You may even consider naming Bruce House as a beneficiary for insurance policies. Bruce House has been fortunate to have had such gifts, which have allowed our organization to develop a much stronger financial foundation.

If you are considering a planned gift please contact Bruce House but we will always advise that you also consult with your lawyer or financial advisor for advice.

Bruce House maintains a Wish List. The list describes items big and small that helps to give someone the basics or the little extra help to be able to live more independently, live healthier and live with a little more quality. The list could include: pots and pans to help put a hot meal on a kitchen table, or clean sheets to put on a bed, or a gift for a birthday. We update the list constantly, based on feedback from staff, volunteers, residents, and clients.

Some donated items may also provide a charitable tax receipt. If you have questions about “gifts in kind” which can qualify for a charitable tax receipt, please contact Bruce House at 613-729-0911 or email us at devoff@brucehouse.org.

Bruce House can make use of a variety of types of donations. Perhaps you can come up with some creative ways of making a donation that we haven't even thought of! By giving in these creative ways, you're helping Bruce House residents/clients and you may be giving others an idea about how they can help Bruce House residents/clients.

· Having a Party? Ask your guests to make a donation in lieu of gifts.
· Adopt a Bruce House resident or family for holiday gifts.
