Bruce House was established
in 1988 with the generous support of a number of local
individuals who provided us with our first residence.
Since then, Bruce House has grown to encompass much
more. The agency now manages a seven-bed residence that
provides twenty four-hour personal care, as well as
provides support to thirty-four apartment units throughout
the city for people living with HIV and AIDS. Our Apartment
Program also provides interested residents with personal
support, counseling and referral to a number of other
organizations and agencies throughout the region.
Bruce
House works with the City of Ottawa, the Province of
Ontario and the government of Canada, a network of community
centers and agencies, local hospitals, such as the Children’s
Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa General Hospital,
physicians, social service agencies and other local
charitable agencies and organizations.
